Galatians 6:9

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

The dynamics at CAM are interesting at the moment. We have some classes ending their academic year, and we have some classes finishing off their first semester. And then there are the Grade 12 students who are closing up and finishing off their school careers and preparing for their graduation and what lies beyond.

In all of these phases, the common factor is the need to keep on keeping on. To apply our minds and energy to the work of performing at a high level.

God’s promise found in Isaiah 40:31 is very powerful – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Taking some time to reset our rest and hope in the Lord is the most dynamic use of our time. For from this renewed hope, our energy levels are boosted, our capacity is increased, our decisions are smoother and better. Indeed, we are too busy not to pray!

CAM – A Cambridge International school

CAM is now a partner school with the British Council. We currently have a partnership agreement with the British Council whereby students writing with the British Council write their practical science examinations at CAM.

CAM is now a fully accredited Cambridge International School, as an associate school under the British Council. As an approved Cambridge International School, we are registered to offer education programmes and qualifications from the Cambridge Pathway. We are proud to be part of the world’s largest global community of schools.

This means that we are now an accredited Cambridge exam centre. Going forward CAM students will be able to write their exams at CAM, together with any private candidates from other schools who are not accredited with Cambridge. We currently have a partnership agreement with the British Council whereby students writing with the British Council write their practical science examinations at CAM.

CAM FAIR report back

The CAM Fair was a great success. The students present could be seen having a lot of fun. Many parents played their part in donations of items, money or their time. The teachers also all played their part of making the day a success. A total of 59,140Mt was raised towards our swimming pool, giving us a new total of 217.010,78Mt. Congratulations to all of us!

STUCO handover

The STUCO of 2023/2024 have done a wonderful job of leading the school in honing the ethos of the school, sewing into the spiritual formation of students and reaching out to the community through their fundraising initiatives. The STUCO were able to donate clothing and supplies to the value of 20,000Mt to their chosen orphanage, Arco-Iris. A congratulations are in order!

School canteen

We had a total of 37 families responding to our survey about the School Canteen. Five respondents were not in favour of the canteen. 30 respondents were tentatively in favour of the School Canteen and 2 were fully in favour. Once we convene our PTA, their first project will be to develop a proposal to parents for the roll-out the School Canteen project in a proper and healthy manner.

Exam week

The end of semester exams begin next week with some of our practical subjects. The exam rosters have been sent home with the students and we trust that they are using their time wisely to prepare themselves thoroughly so that they can achieve the best results possible.

Closing school earlier

From Monday, 3 June, the school will close earlier, at 13h45 in order to allow the students to get home quicker and have more time to study at home.

Graduating class of 2024

We invite all our CAM families to join us for the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2024. Saturday, 15 June, starting at 10h00, at CAM. Dress code is formal.
